Golf GameBook is a social scorecard app that runs 20 game formats, live leaderboards and a feed of your friends' rounds. GolfCore is a golf GPS with free yardages, green maps, modeled wind and a free Shot Tracer on iPhone. Which fits depends on whether your round is mostly about the games with your group, or about the GPS, the green and your own stats.
Golf GameBook is built around the games your group plays. GolfCore is built around the course: its GPS yardages and round stats are free, and Premium reads the green and the wind for you.
GolfCore publishes this comparison of its own product, with Golf GameBook's details read from its own website on October 8, 2026.
Golf GameBook is a social scorecard. It works out the scores for 20 game formats, including skins, scramble and best ball, keeps a live leaderboard, and lets friends follow and comment on a game as it is played. The free version covers stroke play; Gold Membership adds statistics, GPS and bigger games.
GolfCore keeps the scorecard on the course map. You mark putts, fairways and greens as you play, and every round ends with a free recap: where your drives and approaches missed, putts and first-putt distance, sand saves, up and downs and penalties, compared with your previous rounds.
It is a golf GPS first, with free yardages to the front, center and back of the green and to hazards, and Premium adds green maps, modeled wind and automatic shot tracking on Apple Watch.
